The staff at Glasser/Schoenbaum have done a great job of connecting the many organizations on campus and creating a space that sparks collaboration. This sense of community extends to staff and clients alike, helping to break down barriers and leading to innovative ways to serve the community as a whole.
Founded in 1961 and ranked in the top 1% out of over 1,800 Head Start programs nationwide, Children First strengthens children and families by improving the quality of their lives through a comprehensive approach to development, education, health, and well-being. At multiple sites throughout Sarasota County, our agency offers full-day preschool, infant and toddler care, and nutrition and health care assistance to children ages birth to five years old from low-income families. With over 25 years of dedicated experience in the field of early childhood education, Sharon Haynes serves as the Director of Strategic Initiatives at Children First. Sharon will be coming to the campus to share her experience with us and talk about resources available to you and your clients. Lunch and drinks will be provided.
For almost 40 years in Sarasota and 30 years in Bradenton, Women's Resource Center (WRC) has been a place for women and families to turn to when they are looking for help, guidance, or information. Each month, more than 250 women arrive at the door of the Women’s Resource Center seeking help. Whether these women are coping with difficult family situations, concerned about finances, or simply seeking opportunities for personal growth - WRC is there to help. Community Navigator, Michelle Bencini, will be here on campus to talk with us about their work. Join us for this event to learn about the WRC and how their resources might benefit you, your organization and your clients. GS Connects is a program of Glasser/Schoenbaum focused on connecting the staff of campus tenant partners to professional development, self-care, and training opportunities. This event is sponsored by the Gulf Coast Community Foundation. Details at a Glance: When: Tuesday, 8/22/2023, 12-1 pm Where: The Glasser/Schoenbaum Human Services Center, Bldg.
