The Glasser/Schoenbaum Human Services Center

is called the "Campus of Caring" because it is home to over 17 non-profit health and human services agencies that help low income and at risk adults, children and families achieve and maintain productive lives as participating, contributing members of our community. The center occupies 13 buildings in a location selcted for its accessibility by public transportation. It is a 501c3 not-for-profit organization.

New Children's Public Health Center Coming Soon!

The Glasser Schoenbaum Human Services Center has announced it will build a new Children's Health facility at 1750 17th Street. The building is targeted for completion by the end of 2013.

The current County Children's Health Clinic serves 1,100 children per month and is unable to accept more clients due to lack of space. Our plan is to build a new 12,000 sq. ft. building that will accomodate an additional Pediatrician, plus many added services, such as; nutrition and a family practice.

The estimated cost of this building is 1.2 to 1.4 million. Currently, we have a $500,000 gift from Sam and Sally Shapiro, for whom the building will be named. In addition, we have a gift from Betty Schoenbaum, which will have to be matched. We all know the value of a matching gift!

More than 20 years ago, the late Dr. Kay Glasser had a vision for delivering health and human services in a more efficient way. A seed money donation from the Schoenbaum family was instrumental to the creation of the Glasser/Schoenbaum Human Services Center which opened in 1990 and is now nationally recognized as a unique Management Service Organization.
